KD's Wabbits Rabbitry

Wow, I never imagined that I could enjoy these bunnies so much.  Since I started our 4-h club and delved into the history of the Mini Rex rabbit and all the intricacies of showing bunnies, my life has changed for the better.

I have found that everyone in the family has gotten involved and is excited about what the bunnies are doing.  What began as a project for my 9 yo and myself has turned into a family interest.

I found my 17 yo son, holding one of the bunnies while watching tv the other night.  Someone who at the beginning showed no interest, and smiled from a distance when he first saw the bunny and that was it.  I could not believe it.  Then I find him showing the bunnies to his girl friend and his friends.

My 14 yo daughter, also approached me a few days ago, and begged me to take her to a rabbit show, because she wanted to start learning more about rabbits and wanted to buy one of her own.

And most incredible of all, my husband, who originally was oposed to us getting a bunny to begin with, has fallen in love with them.  It is a nightly ritual now, for him to be laying in bed holding the bunnies.

Everyone in the family is involved and eager to help with them, and I dont even have to ask! They are actually enjoying it.  We have built hutches and cages and everyone has taken part of it.  How wonderful!

Wow, I have these two mini rex bunnies, they are both old enough to breed (9months doe, 6 month old buck).

I have tried breeding them twice, the first time, I thought for sure she was pregnant, but due date came and passed and nothing. 

I bred them again, and I am hoping that this time it worked.  I tried placing them back together two weeks after they bred and she started grunting and crying so I separated them again.

Im hoping that is a sign.
